Mighty Earth is seeking an associate to support our campaigns to protect forests and fight the climate crisis around the world, with a focus on Asia and West Africa. As our Associate, you will work closely with our team to preserve highly biodiverse and climate critical forests and the communities that rely on them. We work to protect forests and address climate change in these regions by targeting governments and industries to adopt policies that impact global supply chains. Our campaigns are currently focused in Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, and Ghana. You will mainly work with our team, consultants, and grantees across the region and in affected communities around the world.
Who we are:
Founded in 2016, Mighty Earth is a global advocacy organization with a goal of protecting half of Earth for Nature and securing a climate that allows life to flourish. Mighty Earth has played a leading role in driving a more than 90% decline in deforestation for palm oil and similarly dramatic declines for pulp, paper and rubber in Southeast Asia, the adoption of improved government forest and wildlife protections, and improved traceability for transition minerals and other commodities in Asia and Africa.
We achieve results by creating a “perfect storm” of campaigns, communications, and practical engagement with decision-makers. Through our campaigns, we seek to make significant progress to support impacted people around the world, including by protecting Indigenous land rights.
